Following our Christmas Presentation, “The Birthing Place”, Dr. Joshua expounds on the story of the birth of Jesus by focusing on the need for Jesus to be parented despite His sovereignty. If Jesus, though holy and righteous, needed guidance in His young development, so should we as we continue to grow in our spiritual walk. Likewise, we are asked to provide support and guidance to others in order to make disciples.
Our Zoe “4G” concept largely includes raising up leaders and creating disciples. Listen to Dr. Joshua explain this in more detail as he continues his message, “The 4G Life” with Part 6, furthering our understanding of The Faith Project, “Invest In The Future, Honor The Past”.
In this message, Part 5 of “The 4G Life”, Dr. Joshua begins by introducing us to two of his students who discuss how they have been blessed by being taken in by church family (Sophia), as well as a real family home-away-from-home environment (Iziphozonke). Dr. Joshua then delves into more detail about The Faith Project, outlining the objective, specific goals, and purpose based on the story of King Hezekiah.
Dr. Joshua continues his message, “The 4G Life” Part 4, encouraging us to be flexibly immovable like seismic-ready buildings as we move deeper into our campaign to raise funds for the next generations.
Dr. Joshua continues his message, “The 4G Life” Part 3, using a baseball analogy to discuss how a decision in 1965 by a baseball union representative (Marvin Miller) changed income equality today. What we do today can affect generations of God’s people when we know what we’re worth and understand the times.
Dr. Joshua continues his message, “The 4G Life” Part 2 by delving into the difference between the emotion of fear and the spirit of fear and how to address each.
In this message, Dr. Joshua illustrates the importance of seasoned saints with a visualization of the tall and strong redwood and sequoia trees. Pastor Alexander opens with a resonating poem about redwoods to help paint this picture. Study along as Dr. Joshua discusses God’s promises, emotional intelligence, and competing commitments and their significance as it relates to investing in the future while honoring the past, Zoe’s 4G (Fourth Generation) concept.
Dr. Joshua wraps up “The Lord is my Shepherd” with Pt 9. Dr. Joshua focuses on Listener Level 3 (the thorny soil) based on the “Four Kinds of Soil/Four Kinds of Listeners” illustration of the Parable of the Sower. In Part 9, Dr. Joshua provides some visual applications to help us understand this type of listener of the Word and their competing commitments.
Dr. Joshua continues with “The Lord is my Shepherd” Pt 8. Dr. Joshua discusses the levels of listeners based on the Parable of the Sower, challenging us to study and meditate on God’s Word. In part 8, he compares two of the “Four Kinds of Soil/Four Kinds of Listeners” to first generation college students.
Dr. Joshua continues with “The Lord is my Shepherd” Pt 7. Dr. Joshua discusses the levels of listeners based on the Parable of the Sower, challenging us to study and meditate on God’s Word. In part 7, he particularly focuses on the level 1 and 2 listener.
Dr. Joshua continues with “The Lord is my Shepherd” Pt 6. Dr. Joshua discusses the levels of listeners based on the Parable of the Sower, challenging us to study and meditate on God’s Word.
