Guest Speaker, Joe Peron, gives an encouraging word, “Can God Trust You in This Season?”, reminding us not to move away from the place that God wants us to be. Should we move away from that place, things won’t work out well.
In this message, "By His Stripes We Are Healed”, Dr. Joshua provides a clear description and definition of what healing is and reminds us that Jesus can heal us as easily as He forgives us.
Special guest speaker, Keysha Dampeer gives an encouraging message on, "Embracing the Stillness of God”. When we are deeply focused on the business and hardships of life, we end up missing what God is trying to tell us. When we decide to be still and listen to God, we can learn how to move with purpose and overcome hardships and trials.
Dr. Joshua focuses on a new theme, "The Meek Shall Inherit the Earth”, revealing how meek people aren’t truly weak but are strong people in disguise that God trust to serve Him.
Special guest speaker, Pastor Kenna Pettaway gives an encouraging word, "Where Are You?”. He encourages us not to hide the whole truth from Christ. Instead, confess the whole truth to Him so we can be covered with His mercy.
Dr. Joshua closes the series, "Vs.” Part 2, comparing the wisdom from above to the wisdom from below he described last week. This week he provides ways to practice wisdom to overcome our selfish ambition and pride.
Dr. Joshua introduces a new brief series, "Vs.” Part 1 of 2, breaking down the conflict between pleasing God and pleasing our pride – wisdom from above vs. wisdom from below (James). We tend to seek vengeance when someone attacks our pride, but Dr. Joshua reminds us that Jesus operates a different way.
Dr. Joshua, along with his “In The Text” (podcast) cohosts, shares a powerful dramatization on Easter Sunday, "Keep it in the Grave”. They encourage everyone to leave their sins and temptations in the grave and seek God’s Word to prepare for spiritual battles. (“In The Text” co-hosts are Ravyn and KP. Presenters include Cameron and Julia.)
Dr. Joshua Smith gives a short Palm Sunday Message about what it truly means to celebrate Palm Sunday and how many people only see Jesus as a means to secure a better seat. People’s motives for praising someone are not always genuine because they only tend to praise them to ride their success.
Dr. Joshua Smith ends the series, “Be Flexible in Your Thinking About Race” Part 4, shifting our perspective to focusing on relating to people’s human motivations. Most people aren’t committing wrongful actions toward us. Rather, they are hurting us to get what they want. If we take the time to understand what is real to them – regardless of whether or not we agree with them - we can understand them and honor what matters, their salvation and righteousness.
Dr. Joshua Smith continues the series, “Be Flexible in Your Thinking About Race” Part 3, encouraging us to maintain peace in conflict. Because God draws a distinction between Justice and vengeance, we should avoid praying for, or rejoicing in, the downfall of our enemies. Instead, we must genuinely pray for them to be blessed. While we are expected to seek justice for those that are oppressed, God also expects us to be merciful and humble. It’s countercultural but kingdom minded.
Dr. Joshua Smith continues the series, “Be Flexible in Your Thinking About Race” Part 2. Racial conflict will likely continue to be part of our lives for the foreseeable future. So, Dr. Joshua encourages us to put racial conflict in perspective and learn to navigate it with peace. He also stresses the importance of forgiving our enemies (or those who simply have differing views than we do) and choose to pray for them despite what they have said or done.
