The Christian life is a spiritual race that requires the same focus, discipline, and perseverance seen in a committed athlete. Although our flesh is weak, God has not left us to run alone—the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness, and Jesus invites us to depend on Him for strength and rest. Spiritual disciplines such as prayer, Scripture, fasting, worship, giving, and serving are not simply religious activities; they train us to remain connected to God and become more like Christ. To run this race well, we need vision to see what God is doing, identity rooted in who we are becoming in Christ, and commitment to count the cost and remain disciplined. We do not run aimlessly; we train with purpose, depending on Christ as we pursue the imperishable prize.
